When we have a sale, we team up Nature.
Introducing the Season of Giving Sale.
Get 25% off everything Astral sells online. For every sale during our Season of Giving Sale, Astral will give 5% of sales back to Nature. We’ve selected a few nonprofit organizations that either protect clean water or provide youth access to Nature.. Sale runs from Tuesday, November 22, 2022 through Monday, December 5, 2022.
Read on for a little background about each organization and why Astral chooses to support their work…
Mission // Create a future of clean water and healthy rivers everywhere, for everyone.
“Two-thirds of people in the United States get their drinking water from rivers.” Since 1973, American Rivers has protected and restored rivers to conserve clean water. They prioritize protecting healthy ecosystems, supporting thriving communities and defending clean water.
Among many important projects, each year American Rivers publishes a highly anticipated list of “America’s Most Endangered Rivers“.
Why We Support Them: Astral was founded to create the highest performing gear with the lowest impact on soil and water. Protecting clean water rivers is 100% essential to our mission.
Mission // To prevent plastic waste from entering the ocean.
Since their inception in 2015, Lonely Whale has worked to “drive recycling systems change, develop alternatives to problematic plastics, and create a mass community of people committed to a utopian future.” Their focus on persistent change can be seen through projects like Next Wave Plastics, the Tom Ford Plastic Innovation Award and OH-Wake Media.
Why We Support Them: We think plastic is gross. Our first life jackets steered the entire industry away from the use of toxic PVC foam. Since then, we’ve looked to alternative materials to provide buoyancy, protection and comfort. We like that Lonely Whale is pushing others forward to see eye-to-eye with us on this perspective and find new alternatives to the plastics we still currently use.
Mission // To awaken in children a deeply felt connection with the natural world
— one that inspires curiosity, stimulates learning, and brings new life to classroom performance.
Our neighbors at (North Carolina-based) Muddy Sneakers envision a world where “every child has the opportunity to form a connection to nature.” Through the values of access, belonging, experiential learning, conservation and well-being they are working on closing the science literacy gap, inviting diversity into the outdoors and instilling and understanding of one’s role in the greater ecosystem.
Why We Support Them: Without our own connection to Nature, there would be no Astral. We’re forever grateful for our own introduction to Nature and want to support the next generation of environmental stewards.
