During the sale, Astral will donate 5% of sales into two non-profit organizations that are working to help Western North Carolina’s communities and natural resources recover from Hurricane Helene. These nonprofit organizations were nominated by our community, and include MountainTrue and Helene Rebuild Collective.
About the Non-Profit Partners
Hurricane Helene is being referred to as a 1000-year event in southern Appalachia. With record-breaking flooding, landslides, and high winds, entire towns were decimated. Astral has deep roots in WNC (we began on a biodynamic farm just outside of Asheville), and we are proud to support these non-profits working to rebuild our community.
MountainTrue
MountainTrue champions resilient forests, clean waters, and healthy communities in the Southern Blue Ridge. Many of beloved wild places were decimated by Helene, and MountainTrue is working to clean-up and heal the rivers, old growth forests, rare ecosystems and communities in the area. MountainTrue is the parent organization of riverkeeper programs including French Broad Riverkeeper, Green Riverkeeper, and Watagua Riverkeeper.
Helene Rebuild Collaborative
Helene Rebuild Collaborative is a true grassroots organization. Created by three friends in the immediate aftermath post-Helene to help their West Asheville neighbors, the operation has grown into a highly coordinated force of volunteers. HRC is now focused on allocating resources and coordinating specialized operations to hard-hit and under-served areas across the region with the mission of building resilient communities in post-Helene Appalachia.
