Foam Tectonics

Inspired by the radical mobility of freestyle kayaking. Foam Tectonics™ allows a life jacket to twist and turn with the movements of the upper body, while securely staying in place around the torso.

We believe that the best performing gear is unique and necessary. Our exploration of unique design and material innovation continues to produce industry shaping technologies. The necessity at the intersection of mobility and the force of buoyancy led us to the creation of Foam Tectonics.

Inspired by the radical mobility of freestyle kayaking. Foam Tectonics™ allows a life jacket to twist and turn with the movements of the upper body, while securely staying in place around the torso.

Range of Motion

The primary block of foam in the Foam Tectonics™ platform is anchored around the torso and beneath the pecs which prevents the life jacket from riding up. As your upper body twists and extends during movement, a separate upper plate attached to the shoulder straps moves freely.

Strength

All life jackets using the Foam Tectonics™ platform feature continuous webbing that runs over each shoulder and connects the separate foam panels using 800 lbs. test straps and hardware.

Comfort

By placing the adjustment straps and buckles toward the lower half of the life jacket, you no longer need to worry about any loose strap ends near your face.

Storage

The upper Foam Tectonics™ plate has ample on-body storage capacity. A small cavity of space behind the upper plate has room for easy-to-access safety equipment, while the fan-favorite clamshell pocket on the front of the upper plate boasts highly cavernous and visually accessible storage.

Foam Tectonics Protection

Foam Tectonics™ paired with Flotection, provides maximum coverage and protection from impact, while maintaining a low on-body profile.
