Waterkeeper Alliance

Mission // Strengthen and grow a global network of grassroots leaders protecting everyone’s right to clean water.

If you live on or near water, chances are the Waterkeeper Alliance has made an impact in your community. With 345 waterkeeper groups in 48 countries, they patrol and protect nearly 3 million square miles of watersheds, which provide water for drinking, fishing, and swimming to more than 700 million people.

Why We Support Them: Astral was founded to create the highest performing gear with the lowest impact on soil and water. Protecting clean water is 100% essential to our mission.

American Whitewater

Mission // Protect and restore America’s whitewater rivers and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely.

We’ve been fans of American Whitewater for decades. In short, they represent whitewater enthusiasts across the United States. They are the primary advocate for the preservation and protection of whitewater rivers and connect the interests of paddlers with science-based data. They also publish one of the most comprehensive databases of whitewater river descriptions.

Why We Support Them: If we don’t fight for whitewater rivers, many of our favorite stretches of Nature will be underwater or inaccessible to the public.

Columbia Gorge Junior Kayak Club

Mission // Increase the number and diversity of youth paddlers in the Columbia River Gorge.

Our friends at the Columbia Gorge Junior Kayak Club recognize that whitewater kayaking can be a pretty exclusive sport. But they’re working hard to break the barriers that prevent youth from pursuing our favorite activity. By hosting a number of programs that promote respect and love for the world around us, they aim to build a culture of sustainability and awareness, while limiting their environmental footprint.

Why We Support Them: Without whitewater kayaking, there would be no Astral. We’re forever grateful for our own introduction into the sport and want to support the next generation of shredders in Nature.

Surfrider Foundation

Mission // Dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.

With our roots in buoyancy, we remain deeply committed to water, whether in a river or in the ocean. The Surfrider Foundation’s network of ocean activists are doing their part to protect the world’s oceans and coasts, reduce plastics and provide beach access and clean water for all. With over 175 chapters and student clubs around the world, their impact goes far.

Why We Support Them: All rivers are connected to the ocean. Astral is no different. Our time spent on waves and beaches has taught us that Nature cannot be healthy without a clean and accessible ocean.
