A Tribute To Chile With Aniol Serrasolsas’ LE11 Cobra

For the past decade, Astral has annually launched a highly sought-after limited edition GreenJacket PFD, which doubles as a high-performance PFD and a piece of art. Time-tested by the world’s best expedition kayakers, Astral’s GreenJacket is the top choice for river guides and expedition paddlers alike. Not only does the GreenJacket provide full rescue capabilities, it is durable, comfortable and PVC-free. For the Limited Edition Program’s 11th release, Astral debuts the “Cobra” co-designed by artist Eliza Carver and World Champion expedition kayaker and Astral athlete Aniol Serrasolses.

A Catalonian native, Aniol is known for his unmatched descents of rapids and waterfalls, and is also a competitive kayaker. He most recently took home six awards at the 2019 Whitewater Awards, including Rider of the Year. With the LE11 Cobra, Astral honors Serrasolses’ fearless connection to rivers, waterfalls and nature.

“The 2019 Limited Edition GreenJacket is a tribute to Chile and all its wild places,” notes Aniol. “Over the past decade I’ve come back over and over again to the remote region of Patagonia. There is something about this land that inspires exploration.”

The front of the PFD highlights the Curarrehue Valley, with Las Peinetas mountains towering above the Puesco river. Along the riverbanks, an Araucaria, the national tree of Chile stands tall under a full moon—an homage to Aniol’s love for moonlit laps. The back reveals one of Aniol’s latest adventures, La Leona Waterfall. Upon landing, the cascade becomes one with the cobra, symbolizing Aniol and his infinite connection with the river.

“I was never the same after my first trip to Chile,” says Serrasolses. “Here is where I decided to make kayaking my life journey and where I keep coming back to push the limits of the sport. Puma, Newen, and La Leona have definitely been some of my most special first descents.”

The LE11 GreenJacket is available now in limited quantities! Order now to avoid serious disappointment.
